THE REPLY OF THE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA ON NARESH KADYAN MAIL.

With reference to your email dated 13-2-2008 regarding the Film "Jodhaa Akbar", it is to be stated that the Pre-shoot permission (Fitness Part-A) was given for the following birds: -
Pigeons - 100
Eagle - 2
Macau -2
Post-shoot (Fitness part-B) was given for the following birds: -
Pigeons - 50
Macau - 2
The pre-shoot permission and post-shoot NOC was given on the basis of the following: -
In the Fitness Certificate (Part-B) sent by the Film Company, the Veterinarian has certified that “I was personally present and the above described animals participated in the film shooting on 6th November 2007 at N.D. Studio, Karjat. No undue stress/cruelty as defined in the Prevention of Cruelty Act, 1960 or any other injury was caused to the animals/birds during and after shooting” This office and Film Sub Committee depends on Fitness Certificate Part-B (issued by Dr. G.H. Padawale, MVS Registration No. 5246, Veterinary Doctor) for processing and recommending issuing of No Objection Certificate.
